Trying to teach kids how to speak is difficult and interesting task. Teaching babies English is quite a task in itself and trying to immerse them with another language can seem like you are talking in baby talk. 🙂
Studies have should that teaching kids a second language is very beneficial and can easily be learned before the age of 5. Sign language is a great way to learn how to communicate with your child before they can even speak. The twins do know how sign: “Food” “More”, “Drink”, “Hurt”, “Where”, “Mom” & “Dad”.
Of course it is helpful to have your spouse know the sign language your kids have learned…The twins were signing “more” snacks to Justin the other day and he thought that they wanted him to dance.
Needless to say, they were not amused! 🙂
