Whether its ceiling, table, or portable, fans can be found in homes worldwide. The use of fans is frequently used for comfort and economic purposes individually or within a household. A common problem for families using fans is the danger fans pose to children. Children often put their hands, feet, body parts, or objects inside the spinning fan blades, which can cause serious injury to a child.
The American Academy of Pediatrics conducted a 16-year study of 572,580 childhood injuries in the United States. One of the leading causes for parents taking their children to emergency rooms was for children injured by ceiling fans and other types of fans.
The Dyson Air Multiplier Fans have no fan blades to cause injury. The air inside the Dyson Air Multiplier Fans are drawn into the base of the machine which causes the air to cycle through the loop amplifier. While exiting the loop amplifier, the jet pulls air from behind the fan into the airflow (inducement). At the same time, the surrounding air from the front and sides of the machine are forced into the air stream (entrainment), amplifying it. The end result is a constant uninterrupted flow of cooling air.
Living in hot Florida with a husband, preteen son, and toddler identical twin boys, fans are a necessity. With toddler twin boys, my fear is that they would both be attracted to the spinning blades of a conventional fan and try to put their fingers or an object inside. The Dyson AM01 Table 10″ Fan is a uniquely creative answer to the problems with conventional fans.
The Dyson AM01 Table 10″ Fan is blade less so it makes it easy to clean. In true Dyson fashion, the fan is easy to assemble with simply pushing the loop amplifier to the base. The fan features a dimmer-switch control to adjust airflow power, a LED lighted on/off control, oscillation control, and touch-tilt which allows the fan to pivot on its own and stay in the same position.
A base mounted motor allows the fan to be stable wherever its set–a valuable asset for mothers with children running around.
My family was amazed at the amount of cool air being pushed through the loop cycle that could even be felt standing far away from the fan. The blades on conventional fans cause unpleasant buffeting because they chop the air before it hits the intended object. The Dyson AM01 Table 10″ Fan can cool a room within minutes and be moved to a tilted angle for better reach. The steady flow of cool air can easily be adjusted to various speed settings unlike others fans that offer only two or three setting controls.
The Dyson Air Multiplier Fans are available in two 10-inch models, (blue & iron and silver & white), with a retail price of $299.99. A 12-inch model is available in silver & iron with a retail price of $329.99. This is an affordable investment for families considering the dangers, poor quality, and mechanical issues of conventional fans. All parts and labor are guaranteed by Dyson for 2 years, which is an added bonus that many fans do not feature.
All three machines are available at major retailers and select design
stores. (The new Dyson Tower and Pedestal fans will soon be available at select stores and is currently available on Dyson.com. Table fans are already in stores nationwide.)

I had no idea that Dyson made fans. What a great solution for families, especially with the danger in everyday fans. Great post.

I love Dyson so I’m very glad to hear that they have made fans. They are really a great product that does last even with a house of kids! 🙂
