This year, the east coast has had more than its share of blizzards and storms. Just four weeks ago, Chicago was hit with a horrible blizzard, with 20 inches of snow piling up the streets. Many people lost their power and their heating systems failed on them. This is why I am so proud to share an excellent program called Heat for Heroes.
Heat for Heroes is a Mechanical Contractors Association program, which provides help to military families experiencing trouble with their heating systems — free of charge. Whether their heating system just needs a repair, or if the furnace needs to be completely replaced; Heat for Heroes will help free of charge!
The following is the criteria on what makes a military family eligible for this service:
- In order to be eligible for the program, the military member must be either Deployed, on Early activation status, Attending school/training, or be a Guardsmen on State Active Duty.
- The military family must also live in Illinois or Indiana. For a list of the counties that are eligible please see the MCA website here (Heat for Heroes).

I will let my brother and his family, who live in IL, know about this program. Military families give so much to this country and often struggle financially. I am sure Heat for Heroes will benefit many families. Great post!

Awesome program! Hope they can expand to other states too. Our military families need the best support this country can provide.
