May 4th is a day that many families anticipate with party preparations to celebrate their favorite sequel movie Star Wars. The following are some fun ways to celebrate Star Wars Day with your family.
Movie Marathon
Break out the numerous Star Wars movies and create a marathon. You won’t be able to get through all ten films in one day so pick your two absolute favorites. Include plenty of drinks and snacks and plan to take some breaks so everyone can stretch their legs.
Play Games
Play some games completely themed around Star Wars. Take the kids outside to run with a game of Lightsaber Tag; purchase some cheap pool noodles and have the kids run from whoever is considered Darth Vader, if they are tagged then they must freeze like Hans Solo until someone can unfreeze them. Another game is called Don’t Drop the Storm Trooper, dress up eggs like a stormtrooper with a permanent marker and then go outside for a fun egg toss. For some indoor games, play the Star Wars version of Would You Rather or test out everyone’s knowledge with a Star Wars Trivia game.
Make Some Themed Treats
There is so many fun treat ideas that you can test out for Star Wars day. Create some Stormtrooper marshmallows with just a black food coloring marker. Turn oatmeal cookies into Wookie Cookies with just a little icing or get a little chewie with a caramel treat. Enjoy sipping on a Blue Milkshake while pretending you are on Tatooine. Get wise with Yoda by having your family design their own Yoda inspired apple treat. Make these fun Jedi vs. Dark Side Star Wars Cupcakes. The options can be endless. Pick your favorite characters and go for it.

Dress Up
This day is probably the best day because you have an excuse to dress up as a Star Wars character. If you already have a costume hanging in your closet, then put it on. If you need to get a little creative, there are some cute ideas that you can test out. Make a cute Yoda Eared Headband with just some green construction paper or use some printable masks that you can glue onto cardboard. If you want a full-blown costume, then check out a local costume shop and see if you can find one that is reasonably priced. You can also scan the toy departments; there are always lightsabers and masks available.
Create Some Crafts
Have fun by creating some cool crafts with your kids. Grab some paper lunch bags to create some Star Wars puppets or treat bags. Use construction paper and design some of your favorite Star Wars characters. Test out your Origami skills with some neat Star Wars Origami creations or print out some cute coloring pages and get creative with different colors. See more crafts below too.

Play the Part
Make the most of Star Wars day by pretending to be a character in one of the movies. Will you be a Jedi or a Sith? Will you be a member of the Republic or the First Order? Maybe you will be an Ewok or a Droid? The choice is yours. Use fun quotes from the movies and have fun becoming your favorite character and acting out different scenes.
Enjoy your Star Wars celebration and make some memorable moments with your family.
May the Fourth Be with You!
