Lysol’s Mission for Health for Families and Giveaway

Growing up Lysol products were part of my parent’s cleaning staples. We always had gold or silver cans (some of the colors of the Lysol cans in the 1980s in New York) of Lysol Disinfectant Spray and my parents would spray our home, especially during the winter cold and flu season. Now in my home, I have followed in the Lysol tradition with always having Lysol Disinfectant Sprays and Lysol Disinfectant Wipes. (The Lysol Disinfectant Wipes are a MUST in home with a preteen and toddler twins who frequently create “messes” throughout the day.)

To help families stay healthy, Lysol has launched Lysol’s “Mission for Health”, a resource community for homes, schools, and communities.  The mission statement for Lysol’s “Mission for Health” states, “Health matters. To all of us. That’s why we’ve started the Lysol Mission for Health. With new mom programs, healthy habits initiatives in schools and disaster relief efforts, we are dedicated to doing more for health. Our mission is fueled by passion and backed by our expertise in killing germs. So when you use Lysol at home, you’ll know you’re a part of something bigger.”

The Mission for Health site features Lysol’s blue ribbon school attendance challenge; Lysol’s partnership with with Save the Children to help improve health during disasters; tips, resources, advice on how to keep a healthy home from leading experts. Included is a section dedicated to new Moms to receive information on how to prepare & care for newborns and a kids section where children can experience fun activities to help them learn about healthy habits.  To help stop the spread of germs at home and school this cold & flu season, LYSOL is now offering Buy 1 Get 1 Free packs of LYSOL Disinfecting Wipes and LYSOL Dual Action Disinfecting Wipes at major retailers nationwide through January 2011. Families can even give one to their child’s teacher to help keep classrooms germ free.

The multi functional and engaging community forum allows families to join, receive helpful information, special discounts, ask questions to experts, and live chats with Dr. Jana.  Dr. Laura Jana is a nationally acclaimed pediatrician, Lysol in-house health expert, health communicator, and mother. This Thursday, December 9th at 3PM EST Dr. Jana will conduct a live video chat on the Lysol Facebook page and Lysol.com called “Expert Advice for Raising Healthy Families.” Dr. Jana will share advice and answer questions.
