You must be excited! You have a trip to Universal Studios coming up! With the excitement, does come wondering just how much the total trip is really going to cost. Things start can to add up quickly on a vacation, especially when you include kids and relatives. To help offset some of the costs, below are some money saving hacks for visiting Universal Studios so you can enjoy your experience and still save.
Bring your own water bottle Drinks inside the park can run up the costs of your vacation very quickly. Instead of buying bottled water at the parks, make sure to bring along your own water bottle. The park is equipped with drinking fountains where you can fill up your canisters and not have to pay a cent! It’s really as easy as just remembering to pack your water bottle with you. And while those sugary drinks can look tantalizing, just remember that they are full of stuff that’s bad for you and drinking a lot of sugar on a hot day won’t feel too great later. Stick with the free water. Here’s a great water bottle choice. The bottle is low cost and you can even add some stickers to it for some personalization.
Order groceries to your hotel room Instead of going out for fancy meals and expensive breakfasts, try your hand at making some delicious food in your hotel room! You can use a service like Instacart to fill up on groceries for the whole family. They offer 1 hour grocery delivery to various areas and hotels surrounding Universal. Buy tickets online Did you know that buying Universal Studios tickets online is cheaper than buying them at the gate? It’s true! By purchasing the tickets online, you’re saving almost twenty dollars per ticket! Skip the large gate lines and go straight into the park knowing you’re saving more money and not having to wait! What could be better than that?
Relax by the pool Going to Universal doesn’t have to mean visiting the parks every day. If you’re on a family vacation and feeling a little worn down from all the walking, take a day off and relax by the pool. The pools at hotels are always a bit hit with kids so you won’t have to worry about them staying entertained. Even the most extreme thrill riders need a little peace and quiet sometimes. I’ve put together some of my favorite pool hacks to have more fun in the water.
Save on parking You could easily pay between twenty to forty dollars a day when parking in the Universal Studios parking lot. Skip the costly payments of everyday parking and grab yourself and Uber. Ubers are often less expensive than just parking the car all day, and in that area, there are sure to be no shortage of drivers. Chances are, you won’t have a long wait time, and you also won’t have to worry about getting out of the parks easily at the end of the day.
Visit in “off” seasons Experiencing Universal during seasons that are less busy has many advantages. Demand is high in the Summer months and the parks will be more crowded with longer wait lines to get on a ride. Try visiting Universal in months other than Summer and not on Holiday weekends (unless there is a good deal). You’ll be surprised at how much less you’ll be paying just by going at a less busy time. Check out this crowd tracker to keep your eye on the crowds for the day.
With a little pre-planning and creativity, you can cut costs. Learn about how you work your money in the parks and don’t get caught up buying things that the kids will forget about in a few days. Trinkets are fun to take home, but memories are free and stay with us forever. Have Fun at Universal Studios!
