As life-long fans of VeggieTales, we were thrilled to learn and be part of the initial blogger tour to promote the What’s in the Bible? series. From VeggieTales creator, Phil Vischer, What’s in the Bible? is designed to walk kids and families through the entire Bible.
Vischer has (successfully) set out to teach kids (and parents) the story of the Bible – God’s great rescue plan! We know the stories of Moses, Noah, David, and Jesus, but in this groundbreaking new Bible DVD series, we learn how they all fit together to tell one big, redemptive story. Vischer’s signature wit shines through with his all-new cast of characters, fast-paced flash animation, and catchy tunes.
The What’s In The Bible? 13 DVD-series takes viewers through each book of the Bible and helps to answer some of the commonly asked questions:
- Who wrote the Bible?
- How do we know we can trust it?
- How does it affect our lives?
- How do all of these stories fit together to tell ONE story?
Volumes 1-9 of the video series cover the Old Testament and Volumes 10-13 are all about the New Testament. The series features a cast of characters that truly range from the comedy club to the church. Among the memorable key characters:
- Buck Denver, the “CNN” type news host
- Clive and Evan, the smart (& not so smart) safari adventure brothers
- Chuck Wagon, the honky-tonk country singer
- Brother Louie, the song and dance gospel preacher
- Pastor Paul, the theologian
- Sunday School Lady, the all-knowing Sunday school teacher
- Winifred and Agnes, the American Idol type judges critiquing the show
My boys, 15 yr. old and 5 yr. old twin boys, (and including my husband and I) have really enjoyed watching and learning more about the Bible through the series. Even with being familiar with Bible, we gained new insight into Old Testament stories and now The New Testament/The Gospels. Historical facts, archeology and references come to life in an easy to understand manner for the entire family – regardless of age.
To help (re)introduce the series, we are offering a giveaway bundle of the first and latest DVDs in the series,
Volume 1 -“In The Beginning” and Volume 10 -“The Gospels”.
