The holidays are a time for celebrating family traditions. When my husband and I got married, one of our first Christmas decorations that we bought together were two nutcrackers that fit just perfectly on our mantle.
As the years went by and our house filled with more little feet and laughter, we added several other traditions. With the help of our children, our traditions have expanded to decorating our home the day after Thanksgiving and driving around to see the lights and decorations in the neighborhood. We now open one present on Christmas Eve after attending church and read the Christmas story from the Bible on Christmas morning even before opening presents.
One tradition that we enjoy as a family the entire month of December is cozying up on the couch watching classic holiday movies. With the Christmas tree lights flickering, the Christmas village meticulously placed while the stockings are already hung awaiting Santa’s arrival – its truly a special and beloved time for our family. Its a tradition we hope our children will one day share with their own families one day.
This year, Target invites you and your family to rediscover the wonder of Holiday Theater with the debut of a Broadway-style production called, The Toycracker, Target’s modern interpretation of the classic holiday tale of The Nutcracker.
The Toycracker stars Oscar, Golden Globe and 10-time Grammy winning artist John Legend as The Rat King, television personality and No. 1 New York Times best-selling author Chrissy Teigen as The Nutcracker, and a cast of Target’s must-have holiday toys that come to life through computer generated animation. The eight-minute musical will air in two four-minute segments during the network broadcast premiere of Disney’s Frozen on Sunday, Dec. 11, at 8 p.m. EST/ 7p.m. CST on ABC. See a behind-the-scenes sneak peek by clicking HERE.
Our family can’t wait to watch Target’s Toycracker! What a unique and fun concept on a holiday classic that families of all ages can watch together.
A big Thank You to Target for sending us a Christmas bag filled with lot of goodies from Hot Cocoa, Chocolate Covered Marshmallows, Holiday Drizzle Caramel Corn Clusters, Turtle Pecan Chocolates, Let It Snow mugs, a Frozen blanket and a pair of super soft festive socks to keep us warm and cozy! Oh I cannot wait to see it! I learned that it will be an eight-minute musical that will air in two four-minute segments! One of our favorite traditions we do, is when our elf brings a box of individually wrapped books on December 1st with instructions he can open one book each night for bedtime story. We have enjoyed it so much the past 3 years…and so excited to continue it every year! We get lots of great new stories to read.
