The commencement of summer marks the end of another school year. For our family, it marked the end of sophomore year of high school for our teen and our twins just finished their kindergarten year.
I have been teaching an introductory to Spanish class at the teen’s Christian high school so I have been experiencing (on a smaller scale) the hard work that teachers do each day.
The twins have been in the same school since preschool and they have been blessed with wonderful teachers. The kindergarten year was full of learning new concepts, reinforcing educational practices and fun.
The day does not begin for teachers when children are dropped off in the morning at school. Teachers are constantly planning for the next day, working on lesson objectives, trying to figure out the learning patterns of each child, what works in their classroom and so much more. Teachers are often underpaid and not thanked enough for being the most important role model, counselor and instructor of children outside of their own home.
