The definition of Moodsetter that the Lord gave to
Pastor Tony has changed the way I look at myself.
A Moodsetter is…
“A woman that understands that she has the power to control the atmosphere of her surroundings. She has the ability to embrace her role as a nurturer, supporter, leader, negotiator, entrepreneur, and lover while remaining supportive of her husband’s covering. She is a fighter, a noble individual that is confident and persistent: She is a true friend.” © –Tony McCoy, Pastor of Hope International Church
I am a moodsetter…
I think that every woman has the power to control the atmosphere of her surroundings. When one of us is mad, everyone can feel it. Especially those closest to us. You set the mood for your family. Are you pulling everyone down with your mood?
God has called us to be a nurturer. To be a nurturer is to take care of someone, to help them succeed. We can be a nurturer to our children, but also to our husband. We have been fashioned and designed to bring out the best in our husbands. We must see how valuable we are to him, to his success. My first priority is my husband and then my children. We shouldn’t be fighting to be the leader of our family. God has placed our husbands as our covering, as our leader. We must submit to them. Men are held to a higher caller because of the role they are in.
The Bible says in 1 Peter 3:7, “In the same way you married men should live considerately with your wives, with an intelligent recognition of the marriage relation, honoring the woman as physically the weaker, but realizing that you are joint heirs of the grace (God’s unmerited favor) of life, in order that your prayers may not be hindered and cut off.”
God created us to be physically weaker, but we are equal with them in Christ. God gave an order of submission for our families. Husbands, Wives, then Children. So many times we get this flipped. The children are leading the parents or the wife is leading the home. If we want to live to the fullest potential, we need to have this order in our homes. We need to trust God and His authority. Wives, we must honor the position that our husbands are in. They are our covering. I encourage you to treat them with love and respect, even when you don’t agree with them. Pray for them and with them.
I’ve heard this saying, “my husband is the head, but I am the neck.” You play an important role in his life.
Training our children, is not always joyful or easy, but it is necessary. Proverbs 29:17 says, “Correct your son, and he will give you rest; yes, he will give delight to your heart.” This verse puts a smile on my face. Because knowing this, brings me great comfort that he will bring me joy from all the hard times of rearing him in the right direction. What we do as moms, is not in vain, please remember that!
A true moodsetter uses her talents to set the atmosphere and strengthen those that find themselves in her company. They are go-getters and very much part of God’s plan. Understand that God has called you to be a moodsetter because He knows you are capable. Things should leave better because of you, because of your presence. Ladies, flood your home with godliness, change the negative atmosphere. Rejoice in the Lord of your salvation.
The Moodsetter defintion is for all women, but I added Mami to my name, because God has given me that as one of my giftings. Declare today that you will take on these characteristics, so that they are more evident in your life.
