Depending on where you live, it might not feel much like spring right now, but in just a few short days it will be time to go on spring break! Traveling during spring break (along with many in the rest of the country) can require some planning and traveling. The following are eight great places to take your family for spring break so you can get out of the house and have fun!
Orlando, Florida
Orlando, Florida is one of the best places to take your family for spring break! From Disney World, Universal Studios, and LEGOLAND there is something in Orlando for the whole family. Not in the mood to hit the parks and face the crowds? Consider hitting the beach or nearby resort instead!
Orange Beach, Alabama
When you think Alabama, I guarantee the image of a beach doesn’t come to mind. If you live in the Midwest, this can be a great way to hit the beach without entirely driving to the East coast. This small beach town has great rental properties, family-friendly eateries, and has one of the world’s whitest and sandiest beaches.
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
If you are looking for a beach location a little further north, I highly suggest looking into Myrtle Beach! There are plenty of things to do from shopping, IMAX theatres, mini golf, theme parks, and more to keep you busy when you’ve had enough of the beach.
Gatlinburg, Tennessee
If you’re looking for more of a mountain retreat this spring, don’t miss the chance to visit Gatlinburg, Tennessee. You can enjoy fantastic hikes in the Smokies, or visit some of the touristy locations such as Dollywood, Riley’s Aquarium, and more nearby.
Atlantic City, New Jersey
If you aren’t looking for warm weather, Atlantic City can be a great beach getaway without the warm weather. Outside of the casinos, there are tons of great family fun for the whole family! Visit the Boardwalk, Steel Pier Amusement Park, or hit one of the delicious family-friendly restaurants nearby.
San Diego, California
Home to the great San Diego Zoo, SeaWorld and so much more, you won’t ever run out of things to do here! If you are looking to hit some waves, you can visit one of San Diego’s beautiful beaches during the day, and head down to La Jolla for some great waves.
Washington, D.C. Maryland
If you want to make this spring break educational, or see a lot of beautiful and historical sights, you won’t want to miss a chance to hit Washington D.C. From the food to the culture, there is so much to do here! Visit museums and historical monuments, or take in the beautiful cherry blossoms that bloom every spring.
Outer Banks, North Carolina
If you want to get away from the noise, you will love the Outer Banks. It’s a little less touristy than some of the other southern beaches, but still just as fun. If you’re primarily looking to spend time at the beach, and maybe hit the town for dinner each night, this is a must see!
Don’t miss out on the chance to take your family somewhere amazing this spring break!
